1937 Massey Harris Pacemaker
1937 Massey Harris Pacemaker Tractor
The Massey Harris Pacemaker was basically a rebranded Wallis as was the MH25 with a slightly increased rpm to gain more HP following the purchase of Wallis a few years earlier
This MH has been with the previous custodian for some decades in a private collection, it has had a full engine rebuild, as well as lots of other work including a new manifold etc
The tractor starts within a few turns and runs absolutely superbly on petrol and TVO with a very distinct MH bark to the exhaust
The tractor drives well in all gears, the hand clutch operates nicely and snaps nicely over centre, the brake is exceptionally good too
The steering is nice and precise and it drives well down the road with a top speed of 10-12mph, the tractor governs well
The tinwork is lovely, with "Pacemaker" still visible on the bonnet, the tractor would have been green new, my guess is it had a dealer refurb and painted the newer red colours, the rad is an excellent replacement.
The tractor is full of antifreeze, the oil and water are in the right places with no mixing and no frost damage
The tractor is sat on a lovely set of French & Hecht wheels which are shod with a nice set of tyres that really set it off
This is a very nice unusual tractor that rarely comes on the market
Weighing in at 1.7tons it is easily moveable on a standard trailer
A nice early tractor in excellent running order
