1941 Fordson Standard N
1941 Fordson Standard N
Recently unearthed from a barn in the Midlands, this little N has been a resident there for quite some time
It's a very early narrow wing tractor which is just oozing with patina, it looks to have had a very early paint job but has mellowed in beautifully
The tractor starts well on the handle within a few turns and runs smoothly with its original manifold
This has the standard low top transmission, the clutch is average to good, the brake works well
The engine is from a slightly earlier tractor showing some signs of some orange paint in the odd place, sadly there is a hairline in the block, this is full of water and does not leak or weep, I have run it and there is no evidence of leaking, the previous custodian said he used it at working days and it never leaked
The tinwork is nice with an aged patina to it
The front tyres are gorgeous, the rears are the original closed pattern but have some heavy-ish cracks, these are full of air and I have not had to put any in even after it has been sat in a barn
I have driven this around the yard here and it drives well, the steering is lovey and light, I have only run this on petrol
I have no paperwork for the tractor however the registration is live on the DVLA showing a last change of keeper in 1983
A nice Fordson at sensible money
