1944 Fordson N

1944 Fordson Standard "Millers Conversion"

Here we have a lovely late war Fordson standard, the tractor came from Bedfordshire, it was parked in a barn in 1960 and left until recently

The tractor has a Miller's conversion for cultivation on it, some bits are missing but I have never seen another on a standard, only on E27N Tractors

The tractor itself has been recommissioned by myself, its got a reconditioned GJ4 Magneto, new copper cored leads, new Champion Spark Plugs, governor rebuilt, fuel system flushed and cleaned, rebuilt and modified manifold, sump cleaned out and lots of other little jobs

The tractor now starts within a few pulls hot or cold and runs well on both fuels, the clutch is good and the steering is really nice

The tractor has a rear mounted PTO unit and is linked to a red spot SR43 low top transmission

The engine is the original, it is frost damage free and runs well with no knocks or bangs and excellent compression

The tinwork is lovely and stands out, you can still see the outlines of the original stickers on the tank

The v5 is on it's way from the DVLA under its original registration, the tyres are lovely with 4 new tubes fitted in all

I have a selection of old tax discs with the tractor upto 1959 (when it was last used), it was stored inside on blocks all it's life

It still has all the tools in the toolbox!

A lovely tractor thoroughly ready to be enjoyed by it's new custodian
