1950 John Deere AR

1950 John Deere "Styled" AR
The JD AR was made from 1935 to 1953, 1950 on came the revised "styled version" for 3 years
This particular tractor came over from the US in recent years via US Tractors and has been in a private collection in the West Country
The tractor is electric start, it is fitted with a distributor, it starts well and sounds lovely, these have incredible torque from its 2 cylinder petrol engine
The clutch has just been redone and it over centres nicely and drives well
The tractor does about 12mph on the road and has 6 forward gears through the hand clutch
The engine is frost damage free with no mixing of fluids, the engine has good oil pressure and runs well, all gears select well, the brakes are good but pull slightly to one side on the road
The tyres are excellent on the rear and good on the front, nothing requiring attention here
The tinwork is lovely and just deserves the oily rag treatment
I have a letter here from HMRC stating the VAT and import duty has been paid so this can be registered now with ease
Weighing in at 2.2 ton these legally fit on an IFOR trailer so can be transported about easily
A lovely unusual tractor ready to be enjoyed in the upcoming rally season
The only 2 faults I can pick are the lights aren't wired in and the NSF wheel has a slight buckle you can just see on the road (although this doesn't effect it at all)
