1960 Fordson Dexta
1960 Fordson Dexta - Live Drive
This little Dexta has been with the previous custodian for 33 years, used for ploughing matches before retirement and being parked up
The tractor starts straight up hot or cold with 10 seconds of heat and runs well, there is no frost damage or mixing of oil and water
The linkage goes up and down and the PTO engages, there is a nice drawbar assembly on the back
This is a live drive model but has been set on the single stage setting on the pedal
The brakes work well, it selects gears well and it drives nicely down the road with minimal play in the steering
The rear tyres look to be the original Good Years and although about 2/3 worn are good with minimal age related cracking, the fronts are worn down but are up and fine
The tinwork looks to have been possibly painted I would guess 50 years ago, it would almost pass as original
Unusually the handbrake still works, the tachometer is showing circa 3500 hours but sadly not working
The Lambourn cab is very good, complete with doors and all glass and safety plates, there is one rip in the roof at the back as shown
The engine has a light haze of breathing when warm but has been parked up, a days work would more than likely rectify this
An unusual little tractor with early cab
The only thing I can note is the tractor does not charge as the light stays on
The registration is live on the DVLA but the v5 has been lost, this would be a simple V62 to obtain
